Saturday Feb 15th

Picked up a pair of Blundstones today. Biggest shoe purchase I've ever made in my life, but I feel good about them. They'll last me a number of years and will be well suited to commute in the winter to and from the office. I'll keep a pair of casual shoes there, but they'll do a good job of getting me there and back. I'm still not sure of where I'll actually be living, but I've been confirmed for the housing which is fucking great. The specifics of which should come early next week (according to what I was told)....

On Keeping People Up To Date

[I]n order to start a new (hopefully positive habit) you simply “show up”, and let the rest take it from there. Make a habit of showing up, and eventually you’ll stick around longer and longer, regardless of the habit you’re trying to form. In my case, showing up is going to amount to writing a little bit each day...I’m going to be posting them daily to hold myself accountable to this, and I’m going to build a habit of being a writer.

On Keeping At It

I began my journey towards this new healthier lifestyle with a very negative approach. “I’m a fat asshole and I don’t want to be anymore” and “I hate the person I see when I look at pictures of myself.” It’s always been a knee-jerk reaction to jump to the negative side of things but fuck that noise. That mentality doesn’t get to stick around anymore.
